Startup Description & Innovation Proof — By Stage

Pre-Revenue / Idea / Prototype Stage

Written description of the business — the problem being solved, the product / service offered, and how it is innovative or scalable
This is the most important part of the DPIIT application — it must clearly show innovation, improvement of existing product/process, or scalable business model
Proof of concept — demo link, prototype, product video, or pilot report
Not mandatory to upload, but significantly strengthens the application; reference it in the write-up
At pre-revenue stage, the innovation write-up is the primary evaluation basis — be specific about the technology, methodology or model that makes this a startup and not a traditional businessPractical Note

Revenue Generating

Written description of the business — the problem being solved, the product / service offered, and how it is innovative or scalable

Trademark registration certificate or TM application number, if trademark filed
Copyright registration, if applicable

Income Tax Return for each completed financial year since incorporation

Audited financial statements, if turnover threshold for audit has been crossed

Registered office address proof — electricity bill, property tax receipt or registered rent / leave-and-licence agreement
Official email ID of the entity — recognition certificate and correspondence are sent here

Bank account details of the entity — account number and IFSC
